Women’s Kickboxing and Self-Defense Lessons: Lowest Rates For Personal/Private Lessons In State College Area

Titan Fitness, located in downtown State College, offers one-on-one training in street practical self-defense and kickboxing for women of all ages.    Instructor, Bruce Lombard, has been training in the martial arts for over 14 years and has been teaching these arts to women of all ages, backgrounds, and levels for the past eight years.

One-on-one lessons are available in Muay Thai kickboxing at Titan Fitness in State College, PA.  These private lessons are valuable for a student’s rapid learning growth with the techniques and strategies in the sport of Thai Boxing.  Thai Boxing is recognized around the world as one of the most effective stand up systems for sport or self-defense.  Private sessions can be in duration of 30 minutes or one hour.  Titan Fitness has aimed for years to consistently provide individuals with the most economical training rates possible

Two State College Women Compete in Muay Thai Kickboxing Event

    Allison Glenny and Kristen Althouse both were successful in their Muay Thai fight in Hamburg, PA on April 18,2009.  Allison, a State College resident, won by a unanimus decision with judges scores(30-25, 30-25, 30-26) and Kristen, a State College Resident and Penn State Alumni, fought to a draw in the fight of the night(29-28, 28-29,30-30).  Allison will look to get back in the ring for her second fight in July and Kristin will be back for her third fight this fall.

    Central PA’s Leader for Women’s Kickboxing and Self Defense

    For the last twelve years, Titan Fitness(formerly State College Martial Arts Academy), has built a positive tradition in State College and Central PA for its Women’s Kickboxing program.  Since the fall of 1997, hundreds of women have entered the Titan facility to participate in thispopular program that is influenced by the sport and martial art of Muay Thai Kickboxing.  Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand and is widely considered the most devastating kickboxing and striking martial art in the world.  Thai Boxing is known as the eight-point fighting system, which means, a practitioner learns how to utilize both their hands, shins, knees, and elbows for striking offense.

    The class was developed to give women oppurtunity to learn a form of real kickboxing that would be effective for self-defense as well.  The class is for all ages and fitness levels.  The classroom is set for a non-threatening, fun, helpful, and positive learning environment.  The workouts are a great alternative to any workout and are pushed to a level of intensity to benefit all.

     Students participate in the program to develop self-defense tactics, cardiovascular and muscular endurance, and increased self-confidence.  But, women Thai Boxers have the opportunity to take it to the highest level by competing in the ring or training for a national certification.

    Teaching Women’s Self-Defense in the Centre Region for over Fifteen Years

    For the past fifteen years, Titan Fitness(formerly State College Martial Arts Academy) has been teaching Women’s Self-Defense Programs to hundreds of women in the State College and Centre County region. 

    Titan Fitness offers Women’s Self-Defense classes, private lessons, or small group lessons at its own facility in downtown State College. Titan also makes on-site visits to do Self-Defense seminars.  Sites have included:  School Districts Physical Education Classes; Penn State Sorority’s; Weekend Conferences at the Nittany Lion Inn and Penn Stater; and Penn State Self-Defense awareness activities.

    Training consists of two martial art systems that are both focused on street practical application.  The two defense systems are, Muay Thai Kickboxing and Jeet Kune DoMuay Thai is the National Martial Art of Thailand, it focuses on punches, kicks, knees, and elbows and the defenses against. Jeet Kune Do is the Street practical martial arts developed by the most recognized martial artist of all time, Bruce Lee.  JKD focuses on all street situation’s from standing to on the ground.

    Training not only emphasizes the tactics for self defense, but also, cardiovascular and muscular endurance training that is taken to all levels!
