State College Resident And Penn State Student Wins His Muay Thai Fight.

Corey Tilghman, a State College resident and Penn State University student, trains Muay Thai kickboxing at Titan Fitness in downtown State College. On October 31, 2009, Corey won his Thai Boxing bout by TKO in the second round against his opponent from Fairfax, VA. Corey fought in the 170lb weight class and will have his next fight in January of 2010.

Penn State Students compete in Muay Thai Event

Fighting out of Titan Fitness, State College PA, Penn State University students Jordan Katz and Cory Tillman both competed in MuayThai Kickboxing on October 10, 2009 in Hamburg, PA. This was Jordan’s second Thai fight and Cory’s first time in the ring. The two fighters’ trained and dedicated themselves for nine weeks, twice a day for five days of the week preparing for their fights. The training is broken down into six main areas: pad conditioning, technique drilling, endurance strength circuits, running, light sparring, and hard/fight speed sparring. Mr. Katz fights in the 185lb division, while Mr. Tillman competes in the 170lb weight class.

Small Group Training

Small group training (2 - 10 students): increases each student’s knowledge base and skill level at a faster pace than in a larger classroom setting. Training with fewer students allows for more personal attention and provides training partners to work with during and outside of scheduled sessions.
Small groups can consist of familier training partners, examples include; friends, family, co-workers. Or, individuals can be matched up with other clients that are looking to train and benefit in a small group environment.
Rates are reduced dramatically with 2 or more group members.
Weekend seesions, as well as, weekday morning and afternoon times available.

September 29, 2007 - Bruce Lombard took four of his Thai Boxers, representing Titan Fitness, to compete at the ‘Evolved Fighting’ event in Philadelphia. Tyler Higgins, Mike Putnam, Jay Kearns, and Steve Mayzack went 2-1-1 against top amateur Muay Thai fighters from Boston, Philadelphia, and New Jersey.

Titan Amateur Fighters Start Preperation

After a successful 2008 for Titan’s amateur fighters, both veteran and new, prepare for upcoming events in 2009.
Kristin Althouse will return to the Thai Boxing ring in April. Tyler Higgins gears up for another MMA cage fight this summer.
A new group of athletes are eagerly preparing for their first fight. Allison Glenny will enter the ring for her first Thai Boxing fight in April. Jordan Katz and Cory Tillman hope to get their first Thai Boxing fights early this summer.
Also, Shawn Slater and Derrick Janssen will compete at NAGA submission grappling tournament in April.
