Behind The Training With LombardMMA and Penn State Football All-American, Anthony Zettel

There is much more than the MMA training with LombardMMA that helps drive the success of Penn State Football's Consensus All-American Defensive Lineman, Anthony Zettel.  But, the MMAFx training purpose for Zettel is to potentially help him "Gain An Edge" against his big and athletic opponents.

Anthony Zettel has been doing off-season MMAFx (Mixed Martial Arts/Football Cross Training) training with Coach Lombard since 2013.  The LombardMMA football cross training system helps to develop Defensive and Offensive lineman's practical physical skills as a football player in the trenches.

"This off-season training translates perfectly to the football field.  For a lineman, whoever has the best hands is going to win the battle." - Anthony Zettel

Zettel has been an avid fan of mixed martial arts most of his life, and now a practitioner of the sport.  He started with Coach Lombard three years ago not only to help with his football play, but to potentially consider a future in MMA after football.

The MMAFx program helps to develop or improve a football lineman's hand speed, arm trapping, punching power, foot speed, eye/hand/foot coordination, muscle endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and motion fluidity.

In the following of Zettel, LombardMMA and the MMAFx system has now trained many high level collegiate and NFL football players, including, John Urschel; Mike Hull, DaQuan Jones, Abe Koroma, Nate Stupar,Miles Deiffenbach, Sam Ficken, and numerous collegiate players.

"This stuff makes my hand-speed so much better, makes my hand-eye coordination so much better, it's just the muscle memory.  Without even thinking my hands are constantly Moving in games."  -  Anthony Zettel
